We are extremely happy to finally announce the locations and dates of both the North American and European Beer Bloggers Conference: Dublin, Ireland, June 27-28 and San Diego, California, August 22-24.
We hope you agree it would be hard to find two cities more worthy of spending a weekend learning about social media, meeting both bloggers and those in the industry who recognize their importance, and drinking good beer.
It has been a long wait. Months. Hundreds of emails. Dozens of phone calls. Phew.
In Dublin, we are very fortunate to welcome back Molson Coors as the Elite Sponsor. Not only are they making the conference possible with their support, they are again kicking in €95 stipends for the first 60 Citizen Beer Bloggers to offset the registration fee. Franciscan Well Brewery, Blue Moon Brewing Company, and Sharp’s Brewery are sponsoring the Saturday evening dinner and we are actively searching for a Friday dinner sponsor.
What’s more, we have another perfect location for the EBBC: The Church – the 18th century St. Mary’s Church of Ireland now converted to a pub, cafe, and restaurant. We’ll experience all Dublin has to offer with a Thursday evening pub crawl hosted by beer blogger, three-time EBBC alumnus, and the-guy-who-made-Dublin-possible, Reuben Gray of The Tale of the Ale.
For the North American Beer Bloggers Conference, we are excited to be headed to California, home base to the more breweries than any other state or province. San Diego has a long brewing culture and an active brewers guild.
Karl Strauss Brewing has supported the BBC by attending, speaking, and sponsoring since the first event in 2010. We appreciate their belief in our concept, are happy to visit their home town of San Diego, and are thrilled to visit them as they host the Friday evening dinner.
Stone Brewing Co. has also been involved since the beginning, with co-founder Greg Koch serving as the keynote speaker of our first conference back in Boulder in 2010. Stone will whisk attendees on Saturday evening to Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station, its expansive new brewery-restaurant in the heart of Point Loma’s Liberty Station development, where you can behold the architectural award-winning environs while enjoying masterfully prepared food-and-beer pairings.
We have kept our prices to the same low $95 (Citizen Beer Bloggers or Writers – includes press), $195 (Industry Beer Bloggers), and $295 (General Registrations) prices from 2010, with the Euro equivalent for the EBBC. New this year, however, prices will increase $25 / €25 on April 1st, which we hope will encourage early registrations, critical as we plan local transport and meals. We have also formalized the arrangement of “blogger discount for posts about the conference”, so please understand if you register for the reduced-price citizen or industry blogger categories, you are committing to writing about the conference.
We know that won’t be a problem, as in both Dublin and San Diego you will be faced with too much content – great speakers, tasty beers, supportive sponsors, and awesome locations!
Good morning! Where do we fall in the list of Citizen, Industry, or General?
We’ve moved everything to San Diego and this will be our first BBC.
Cheers!
I am trying to find an actual blog on your site and don’t see one. Can you point us in that direction?
You can count the BeerBrosBlog gents in for San Diego! Lock it in.
