Sponsor of the Craft Beer Reception at #EBBC14
The craft beer scene in Ireland continues to develop at a rapid pace. Independent, craft brewing companies are thriving and experienced a 35% sales growth in Ireland in 2013.
Many beer related enterprises and communities have formed since the ascenion of the craft beer business. One organization, Beer Ireland, has blossomed as a result of this craft beer pollination. The group started out as a loose collective of homebrewers who were looking to go pro. Formalized in 2012, Beer Ireland represents the interests of emerging Irish craft breweries and helps brewers by providing practical knowledge on the running of a brewing business. Beer Ireland “crowd sources” the necessary knowledge about regulatory requirements, quality management, and technical issues. By focusing on education and training for Irish craft brewers, Beer Ireland can open doors for brewers and create a more equal-opportunity industry where those who can brew a good beer have a chance to enter the market.
Sara Breitenfeldt, Programme Director of Beer Ireland, is inspired by the craft beer scene in Ireland because “the craft beer world is very collaborative…there is no cut throat attitude. Beer brings people together.” The collaborative nature of the craft beer culture allows an organization like Beer Ireland to gain strength in numbers – the willingness of its members to share professional knowledge in order to raise the quality of craft brewing in Ireland is paramount to its success.
Members of Beer Ireland volunteer their time for the betterment of the industry as a whole and we are excited to collaborate with this great group at the European Beer Bloggers Conference this June.
Beer Ireland is sponsoring the Irish Craft Beer Reception at the European Beer Bloggers Conference in Dublin on Saturday, June 28th starting at 4 p.m. Breweries participating in the reception are:
Independent Brewing Company of Ireland
We look forward to sampling the craft beers these producers are making and being able to “talk beer” at the Irish Craft Beer Reception with Beer Ireland!
