The 2016 European Beer Bloggers & Writers Conference is coming in HOT to Amsterdam on August 19-20th and we are truly excited to be hosting this event in such an awesome location with great sessions, exclusive excursions and sponsors this year. If you are on the fence about attending #EBBC16, get on board as we have a lot going on this year — you won’t want to miss out!
#1. Learn that beer in the country is not all about Heineken. Join us for this great session of the History, Present, and Future of Beer in The Netherlands seminar led by Michel Ordeman, “Head of Church” at Jopenkerk Brewery and co-founder of the Campaign for Netherlands Beer Styles, and Rick Kempen of Bier & Co. The seminar will be orated by Arnoud Paternot of the blog Beste tot nu toe. Hear about how new beer styles are evolving alongside traditional Dutch styles in The Netherlands, followed by a tasting of ten craft beers at Live Beer Blogging. Beers will be poured by the brewers themselves, so you will have a one-of-a-kind tasting experience exclusive to EBBC.
#2. Hang out with the brewmaster from Pilsner Urquell, which for the sixth consecutive year is sponsoring the conference. Enjoy a world class beer dinner hosted by the iconic brewery, which has been a long-time supporter and friend to beer bloggers and writers around the world. The price of the meal is included in registration!
#3. Improve your beer tasting skills with a Multi-Sensory Workshop on Beer Flavours hosted by Dale Smith from FlavorActiV. Dale will conduct a sensory workshop to introduce common beer faults and positives, with a tasting session and live results to test the skills of the audience.
#4. Attendees can participate in one pre-conference excursion to Den Bosch, where guests will receive a complimentary overnight stay, as well as lunch, dinner, an easy 40 minute bike ride, a canal tour and three private brewery tours and tastings including a visit and tasting at La Trappe. An evening pub crawl will also be organized for those who choose to spend the evening in the city! A post-conference excursion to Bodegraven, the Netherlands will bring you to to Brouwerij De Molen for a private tour, tastings, and a lunch.
#5. The European Beer Bloggers & Writers Conference is the only annual gathering of beer writers from throughout Europe, who will convene in Amsterdam City along with brewmasters and brewers whose breweries exhibit a unique and lengthy history of beer making by the Dutch. Plus, it’s beer tasting in Amsterdam–what’s not to love?
