What do you get when you put ~150 beer bloggers in a room with 9 craft brewers and 2 hours to kill? You get #BeerSocial!
We’re turning a run-of-the-mill “Tweetup” on its head this coming Saturday night; so make sure your smart phone is charged, your ipad is at the ready, and that you come with your game face on (or at least the face you want shared on Instagram!).
If Twitter or Facebook is your comfort zone for sharing content, the point of #BeerSocial is to get you active on other platforms that you may not use as frequently. Platforms such as:
- Google Plus
- Youtube
- Flickr
As you tour the room meeting with brewers and sampling various craft beers, we encourage you to use these various platforms, share your beer experiences, and use the hashtags #BBC13, #BeerSocial, and various hashtags used by the individual breweries. There even may be some fun giveaway prizes from the breweries for your participation on all these networks!
To familiarize you with the participating breweries, the beers they’re pouring for us, and all their social IDs, each brewery has a dedicated landing page for the event:
- Rogue
- Samuel Adams
- Sierra Nevada
- Woodchuck Hard Cider
- Karl Strauss Brewing Co.
- Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales
- Florida Beer Company
- Lagunitas Brewing Company
- Goose Island
This information will be available throughout the event and accessible via QR code around the room.
We’ll also be streaming various feeds of Beer Social on large screens around the room, and our very own Reno Walsh will be hosting a Google Plus Hangout On Air throughout the event. This will be streaming live on Youtube and on Google Plus where #CraftBeer lovers around the globe will be able to join in all our fun! Reno will be inviting many of you to join him for a few minutes during the event to chat about the beers, and engage with the folks online. If you’re on Google Plus, please share the Hangout’s URL with your circles and invite everyone to participate with us come Saturday!
