World Class Beer has been a sponsor of the Beer Bloggers Conference for three years now, including the first 2 conferences in Boulder (2010) and Portland (2011). And this Saturday evening, after the bloggers have a chance to spend some time at the Microbrewers Fest we’ll be heading out to the Monarch warehouse on the east side of Indy to visit one of the largest beer and wine warehouses in the world. At the moment, they have well over 1 million cases of beer and wine in the building and one of the most fully automated beer and wine picking systems in the country (there are even robots!).
After a long day of blogging and tasting beers, we figure to make it a relaxed evening at Monarch as we tour the warehouse and provide some dinner and a couple of special beers to keep things interesting. World Class has partnered with the Garrison at nearby Fort Benjamin Harrison to bring in a backyard cookout style dinner including hamburgers, chicken breast and all the fixings to keep things casual as the bloggers get a chance to tour the warehouse.
Better yet, we’ve gotten a very special couple of beers to sample during dinner! Bell’s Brewery has kindly given a small keg of their Black Note Bourbon Barrel Stout to sample with dinner and the Global Beer Network is going to present Gulden Draak 9000from the Van Steenberge brewery (winners of a Gold Medal at the 2012 World Beer Cup for Piraat) as well.
Welcome to Indianapolis, Beer Bloggers!
