Last week, we sat down in the States for an interview with Mark Dredge of Pencil and Spoon in the UK and were able to record it to share with you thanks to the power of Skype. We asked him how he started blogging, the difference between beer bloggers on either sides of the pond, and the importance of connecting with fellow bloggers. Finally, he had some great thoughts to share about big breweries and their relationship with beer bloggers, and how Kristy McCready of MolsonCoors is working to bridge the gap.

Part 2
Join us online for a Twitter chat this Thursday, February 16 at 7pm London time/2pm EST to share your thoughts and continue the conversation with Mark Dredge. The chat will follow #EBBC12 and @beerbloggers will be moderating, with @markdredge answering any questions you have.
I’m currently brewing and writing about beer in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico where Modelo rules the beer world. Would love to have a greater relationship with them but that company seems to large and unapproachable. In the mean time, the craft beer movement is exploding down here, feels like the beginnings for something great in terms of choices in quality artisenal brews. Thanks for sharing the interview and see you on twitter, Cheers!

Beer Diary…
Hey, Kristy McCready…..that’s me *does a happy dance*
I do always have opinions (lots of them!) but I am only one of many people at Molson Coors that feel the same way, at the end of the day I’m not sponsoring EBBC with my own cash.
I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before but we all have the same goal in mind, making beer the number one drink of choice for drinkers albeit we approach that in different ways and that’s ok. As long as there are people talking about how great beer is and reaching out to a wide audience we have a good future – lets embrace and celebrate beer in all it’s forms – whatever the style, whatever the brewer.
