At the end of 2016, the Brewers Association announced that the U.S. had passed the 5,000 brewery mark, with more to come. If you featured one brewery a day, it would take you almost 14 years to cover them all. And that doesn’t even begin to cover all those beer festivals, special releases, and other exciting things going on in the industry.
The point is, blog content isn’t hard to come by. The challenge is getting your content in to people’s hands, or more appropriately, on to people’s screens. That’s where Social Media 2.0 comes in.
The session will cover what you need to know about social media beyond character limits and best times to post. It will walk through calendars, content creation, and scheduling apps that you can use to fill your social media channels with your beer reviews, event recaps, and other posts!
Why? Because the name of the game is followers, page views, and ultimately revenue. Well written content can help increase followers, drive more people to your site, and bring in more revenue. Last year alone, Terrapin Beer Co increased their number of followers on Instagram by over 70%. Companies oOften use followers and post interactions as an easy (and public) metric for gauging how successful partnering with a blog might be. Social Media 2.0 will help you put your best digital foot forward.
This session is geared toward bloggers, it is applicable to other digital publications and breweries.
About Me:
Leah is the Marketing and Communications Lead Terrapin Beer Co. where she’s worked for three years (first in Merchandising, then in Communications and Social Media). She first fell in love with Craft Beer in college and spends her free time trying new beers, geeking out about marketing, and adding breweries to her “must visit” list. You can follow her craft beer adventures on Instagram and on Twitter.
This is such an important topic for bloggers, restaurants and pubs, and businesses of all kinds! Pubs and bars with a lot of character, or a unique atmosphere can really capitalize with therr social media campaigns by highlighting their unique features, and if a bar is a bit mundane a strong social media following can up their game just as well, and make them stand out from the crowd! It really is essential in this digital age to have a strong online presence.
