Although the 2018 Beer Bloggers and Writers Conference is over, now is the time to refresh some of the great things we learned there! And Devils Backbone Brewing is even offering a reward for doing some homework (or shall we say “hopwork”?)
If you remember, this was the session we all enjoyed:
Tasting Lagers: The Flavors and Complexities of Beers Brewed Slow by Nature(Presentation by Devils Backbone Brewing Company): Devils Backbone Brewmaster Josh French and Anheuser-Busch Master Cicerone Max Bakker will lead a tasting of an under-appreciated beer style: lagers. Build your beer vocabulary and learn about the flavors that are found in these deceptively simple, slow-brewed beers.
But now DBB and the BBC would like you to grab a beer, watch this video, and have a chance to win tickets to attend Hoopla, a fall festival held at Devils Backbone Basecamp Brewpub & Meadows in Nelson County, Virginia, being held September 28-30, 2018. You’ll get two tickets to the event, along with a campsite!
So, watch the video; grab a beer and do all the steps outline, and comment below (2 sentences) about your experience with your beer while tasting as Max Bakker taught us how to.
Winner will be chosen at random on Sept. 7. Good luck!
Leaving my Youtube comment on Beer Now page too:
BEER: Ashland, Virginia’s Center of the Universe Brewing Chameleon IPA (Baby Blue) – Interesting to go through steps 1-4 and have the aromas change with each pass, but I picked up some peach with the cover and sniff. This has a very clean mouthfeel and finish, some type of tropical fruit – maybe pineapple? Cheers!?
